Town and village housing costs are already rising faster and more dramatically than incomes, making it difficult for people to live in the community where they work:

  •  Median wages for a variety of occupations have not kept up with the cost of housing.

Few Choices

A worker earning $50,000 a year can stretch to purchase a $150,000 home but there are a shrinking number of homes available in your price range. In fact, eight-five percent of the single-family homes for sale in Albany County on 10.19.2007 were priced over $150,000.
