No Place to Move to.

An estimated 4,467 people are homeless in Albany County.

The lack of affordable housing is a major factor contributing to homelessness in Albany County. People remain living in transitional housing quarters and in homeless shelters because they cannot find affordable housing units to move to.

Albany County's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness prepared by CARES, Inc. details the state of homelessness in our region and the steps to a solution.

The number of homeless families seeking assistance from the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society has grown sharply.
